Life's seasons

There is a time to live and then a time to die
Such is the secret of God's plan for all life
Knowing this as truth leads to a blissful state
Which is marked by a complete absence of strife

Life's seasons are marked by varied activity
And each act is rung in and out of the stage
An actor who refuses to leave shall be railed
As upsetting the natural rhythm and pace

Engage in life with a detachment absolute
Knowing that we are spirit's manifestation
As conduits of God's immense flow of grace
Our lives are totally devoid of imperfections

Supplant ego from the center of universe
It is rightfully her place of blissful repose
A wily transgressor shall not gain control
Nor shall on simple life attachment impose

As the vessel completes its quiet journey
Traversing stormy oceans of unknown depths
A state of peace awaits beneath a flowering tree
Where life surrenders its last and final breath
