Secret of Prayer

Human prayers are countless and fervent
They ask for a specific result or an event
Some ask for riches and dawn of health
While others want increase in life's length

All such prayers reach their source divine
Which is compassionate and always present
But some are seemingly answered instantly
While others arent, God being stoic and silent

But every prayer that is made for a result
Combines a divine portion with its contrast
And God receiving all such pleas equally
Will from ego's trap, holiness surely extract

And that will be delivered to source per plan
Which will cause the right event to transpire
At times contrary to a mere human's desire
Leading to angst and railing against God

But we dont understand all of God's plan
Our ego is alas quite diminished in scope
A prayer is needed even if it is unanswered
Because God's grace flows from quiet hope
