Hope

Grace leaves quietly without bidding farewell
When the offered truth is cast aside sans care
If there is a mental transition it might change
And transform its final good bye into an aurevoir

Truth slips quietly through the daily thoroughfare
It plays hide and seek as we sift through life
As our grasp tries to clutch futilely on a mirage
The sands of time move inexorably as in a sieve

An opportunity is presented to deal with love
But is quickly squandered as we prefer rules
Conditioned responses are the norm of of life
Even though they constantly render us fools

As the infinite arc of heavenly splendor proves
Spirit is the moving force behind all our lives
But we forget it every moment of our busy days
And struggle vainly in our pursuits as ego thrives

A barren landscape can be the final result of strife
But even that may be a harbinger of faith and hope
Because replenishment is the code of infinite nature
As the Divine mother applies portrait's final stroke
