Sometimes we yearn for a different life than our normal habitue
Our daily life seems to pale in comparison and a mere residue
Distant promise is like a glowing light hidden behind a lace curtain
It seems to appear on and off as if a chimera and quite uncertain
Those who have wealth in plenty start yearning for a simpler life
Whereas those in penury are standing forlorn wanting end to strife
Those with a busy schedule and important meetings want leisure
Whereas the indolent soon start wishing for a more stringent measure
These then are the winds that ruffle the serene surface of the mind
Causing turbulent rising waves and acute disturbances of allied kind
We strive through many means to still the inexorable march of thought
But try as we might there seems to be no way to close Pandora's box
Spiritual practice prescribes meditation as a means to still inner chaos
But waves dont obey mind's edict because it also happens to be a thought
Our desire for instant gratification causes us to seek a quick remedy
But calming a raging ocean is not an easy task leading to a rapid liberty
The target shouldnt be the waves raging on surface, they are mere effect
But like a pearl diver we need to sink deep below surface to become perfect
Truth lies hidden behind the chintzy curtain drawn over it by illusory life
Preferences bond us to choices that gently weave a web to hold us tight
To be free then, take courage to look at your preferences and attachments
Whether it be to family, lover, country, or God: cultivate strong detachment
A honed edge is not needed to tear asunder the nebulous veils of life and death
Pay attention to the inner light which shall blaze forth removing our ignorance

Thank you for the 'Blazing Light', this is the state of mind I am exactly in. I felt like a big ocean and feeling very tired to understand the waves. As you said its not a easy to deal with the raging ocean. I always used to think life is simple, which is true when you are willing to simplify it. I feel that I am walking away from simple life and making it complecated. I hope I will get there where my inner light directs me to lead my life. That is ultimate goal for anybodies life. Thank you for the beautiful poem.

You will definitely get to your goal. That is your birthright and inner essence and there is no way that you can avoid evolving and reaching the final destination.
So all you have to do is to relax and shift to a service mode.
