Purposeful Nature

Blue skies were arched over the roadway today morning
The hill tops were fresh and regal, with a misty crowning
Clouds were having a regional gathering causing gloom
Powerful star was obscured by a grouping of wispy plumes

As the clouds moved errant across the aquamarine sky
They formed a patchwork of light and shade across bright eye
Light dappled as a sprinkling of gems across hillside green
Their twinkling was as terrestrial stars now seen, then unseen

A clutch of sea gulls cut the sky with the precision of a scalpel
Their raucous cries shattered the peace of nature's quiet chapel
An open meadow by busy freeway was stirring with spring life
Divine artist's brush was adding a deep yellow color as inscribe

There was a spider within my moving vehicle making its home
It reminded me of my own insignificance compared to larger dome
I was losing my sense of purpose in the days that were gone by
And enveloped with despondency, quite unable to figure why

But all of nature's busy activities filled me with a cheerful spirit
For all its varied activities Nature never seemed to me to be hurried
There never is a mistake in its actions, never a sense of loss or regret
Everything is exactly so, without a need to tear down and reconstruct

I too am a part of that infinite Nature's spectrum of life and death
Thus my manifestation in this world is also destined by the infinite
There is no need for me to question my purpose or pause uncertain
My existence is worth enough, and life's purpose shall be apparent
