Tools of Deliverance

I existed as divine spirit roaming about the universe
There were no bounds to existence by any fetters
I could go where I pleased and be what I could be
Intention turned to being and I live as per my fancy

The time came for me to manifest back into material
As is customary for any soul indebted to corporeal
I visited the abode of pure spirit in order to prepare
For earth bound journey needs good planning and care

Divine Spirit accosted me and welcomed to her presence
She was peace personified and bliss was her essence
Smiling kindly at me she gently asked for my preference
And I stated that I would like to evolve further hence

She gave me the tools that I needed for such a task
They were anger, attachment, guilt, and ego's mask
She also arranged for a divine spirit to go with me
Who would guide and provide when I lose my sanity

I asked her a question about the lower form of gift
Was I not entitled to take the easier way of uplift?
Divinity said: Battling baser emotions strengthens will
Divine spirit sent as child will patience in you instill

Raising a child is a valuable practice for self not waif
A child is close to divine and not a burden for us to take
They will drive us insane at times by their intransigence
But their very acts will propel us to a state of deliverance
