Guru's demise

The little energy bundle that was my guru was at play
I recalled my earlier verse about his life and his way
There were some pressures at work because of new goals
Apparently there had to be a target defined and enforced

The nimble master was my solace during times such as this
His carefree way of life was my inspiration and bliss
At times he would sit on a tree branch and chomp away
While at others he would run across the express way

He was invincible I felt and made him my life's mascot
If Macy's Parade can have one why should I be left out?
Then one day while driving back I saw a sight of grief
The little animal was roadside, death being the thief

A speeding vehicle no doubt had got the better of reflex
Thus a promising life was by death's messenger annexed
My guru was gone, I was grief struck and looked up in anger
I saw several crows above, circling along with a vulture

Their target was my master's corpus lying quite still
Day long hunger was to be satisfied by fresh meat fill
I realized then that my master was alike in life and death
Teaching me that to serve was the goal till his last breath
