Time's cessation

Time is a key component of our day to day lives
We are always in a rush to make most of its slice
Our activities are governed by it without fail
And from all directions it does our acts assail

We have invented various devices for its measure
Not a place can we escape to free of its pressure
Even our vacations are governed by the inexorable
We plan our leisure to an extent quite insufferable

Even in childhood we are conditioned to constraint
Our time during day is regimented and restrained
Most of our waking life is spent working on deadline
Not once have I heard anyone speak of a living line

We spend our lives in constantly acting and deriving
Never once do we reach our goal and state our arriving
Our constant effort is to strive to save a lot of time
What baffles me is: what do we do with piled up chimes?

Our divine childhood and youth filled days are in rush
We tell ourselves that eventually our spirit will refresh
But ironically by the time we are done with our work
Life has passed by leaving us with lots of past hurts

In reality time is not flowing, it is neither future nor past
By diving into the present moment, time can be held fast
Our best work with divine spirit is done in the present
When one with it we stop aging and become again innocent
