Anguish

Spirit dons a cloak as per its whim
Now of a colorful hue and now dull
It starts forth as per its fancy
Seeking to fulfil destiny's pull

Bursting forth unbridled in force
Casting aside worlds found unworthy
Shaping anew in creation's frenzy
Leaving befuddled mortal lives aplenty

A raging mind stands at the brink
Looking askance at a divine presence
While oscillating between two banks
Of a river that runs wild and torments

Now and then is a glimpse of light
As spirit shows itself in many hue
Death follows life in cycles eternal
As cloaks are doffed yielding to new

Who is it that cries at final parting?
There stands a sentinel at heaven's door
She welcomes us to lasting peace and love
As earthly bonds cease at infinity's shore
