Seasons were changing and nature was doing its shuffle
Landscapes underwent transformations quite colorful
I was seated at my favorite alcove by the window sill
My pasttime was to watch life move by gently tranquil
All those that I knew and cherished were moving on
They had their own lives with great tasks to perform
I was satisfied with my perch on the banks of this river
There was no special goal for me or tasks to deliver
Life was eternal and would always be ready to relinquish
But that was just one aspect as it would also replenish
Migrating birds would come to this lake filled with bloom
And task done would fly away to their distant home soon
Summer reigned forth with its searing heat and fine dust
Monsoons came with their cleansing rain and rainbow crest
Trees shed their autumn leaves in an endless cycle of life
Before long my simple perch shall be deserted and quiet
