Simple joys

There was a time when the country side was in full bloom
Our fields were green with the crops waving their plumes
Farmers had constructed channels for nourishing water
Fields soaked up the sun and moisture becoming fresher

There were simple folks walking on the raised land fill
Arriving to perform their daily work to plow and till
They would come as a family and set up camp nearby
Children would run about and play while time passed by

Their work was quite taxing and involved heavy labor
But being out in nature and under the sun made it easier
The day passed without complaint and time just flowed
At its end while the body was tired, the spirit just glowed

These simple folks were not rich in terms of material wealth
Their clothes were tattered and their children played in dirt
But they enjoyed a life that was immensely enriched by love
Life doesnt deal them a raw hand, guided as they are from above
