Wary Transgressor

Love is a much maligned emotion in our day to day life
People profess to have and exhibit it, forms sour and ripe
Brother states that he loves, Father states the same words
So does the wife, son, daughter, the entire familial hordes

But these pale in comparison in front of that bondage
Which arises between male and female holding hostage
This pernicious influence also goes by identical name
And is revered in poetry, prose, drama, all quite same

In its grip, a cloud seems to descend on the mindscape
Which deludes and creates transitory scenes without escape
It is strange this so called love: it produces opposites
Pain now, pleasure then, which in normal life intercedes

An act of purity is mistaken in its vile poisonous grip
As egotistical and condescending, stinging like a whip
I love with out condition, and able to transcend scorn
Hopefully the wary transgressor shall also soon reform
