Universal structure

What is the structure of this world? I have yearned to know
I refer not to the physical construct but to that behind flow
It is inconceivable that infinity exists all around by chance
With a finite gem residing in the limitless nature's hands

A misshapen sphere spinning in space, tumbling over and over
What causes it to be suspended without dropping ever lower?
Our notions of time are created by this arbitrary movement
How can this be real? There has to be a cause for torment

What is that which originates time and allied curved space?
Is there a boundary that exists to limit universe's maze?
Who is it that gazes at us across that boundary in the sky?
Is it the unflinching visage of reality that explains why?

Standing at the center of an infinite space without break
Seeing sameness in all directions that I look without haste
I know that I am the center of the universal ebb and flow
The cause, the structure, of that which is above and below
