Life's lessons

Higher institutions of learning are widely prevalent
All of us have a hankering to send there our children
That has become a goal in itself, just to reach there
What happens after equipping thus is up in the air

Is it really a higher education that is imparted within?
What does this equip us to perform in life's precincts?
Perhaps it gives us the qualifications to earn a living
But is that the goal of life for which we shall be aspiring?

Nowhere in Nature is there a need to earn one's keep
All are accepted without reserve and never in need
In return Nature doesnt hold on tight to its denizens
They are free to enter and leave without limitations

The greatest lessons I learnt are in mundane environs
In temples, in bazaars, in homes, and in transit stops
The teachers were simple folks who taught quite a lot
About life and its pains, and how to overcome travails
