Warfront Advice

I have always wondered how one reacts to adversity
What can be done when evil threatens our sanctity?
When an innocent life is brutalized and bullied by evil
What can our reaction be in a situation of such peril?

It is nearly impossible to maintain calm and be loving
When our near and dear are in danger quite involving
We instantly regress to our earlier origin of lower life
And wish to attack and tear asunder our cause of strife

All the teachings of saints suddenly fall as if on deaf ears
Our thin veneer of civilization is sloughed off as inferior
We expose our atavistic tendencies to defend by attack
There is no room for grace to cause our mind to retract

But the real reason why such adversity arises is to teach
It is an opportunity for us to practice what we always preach
There are no random acts of cruelty or violence in this world
It is a carefully planned experiment that makes us evolved

It teaches us how to act with complete detachment to results
We act with complete faith and to divinity our actions entrust
This is the truth that was taught in a grim battlefiled of yore
It is a practical advice that in daily life we need to bring to fore
