There are two forces clamoring for our attention: Ego and the Spirit
One has a shrill voice that seeks to dominate and is hard to resist
The other is a voice of peace that speaks in a voice of gentle softness
There really is no struggle between the two inspite of contrary evidence
We can go to either source for obtaining answers to our pressing problems
Why does time hold us in its inexorable grip and present us a conundrum?
Every youthful premise shows great promise and yet crumbles with time
The blush of an unformed flower is no sooner seen than it is past its prime
My child was such a cherub just yesterday in his infant and toddler days
But I blinked and he has become an adolescent ready to shave and date
Time seems to accelerate events when I am not looking closely enough
Who is this stranger that stares back from mirror at me as if in rebuff?
I went to Ego with this question as it was causing me great distress and concern
But the Ego laughed and said that it was the nature of Time to destroy in turn
Nothing escapes from its clutches and it is the greatest foe that we have to fight
All our lives are spent in trying to catch up with its march, as day follows night
I ran from the Ego and went to the Spirit with the identical question of mine
The Spirit welcomed me and assuaged my wounds with balm quite sublime
Time is our own creation and is our ally, she said: It is a device for our learning
Know it thus and use it for enlightenment and never lapse again into mourning
From that moment on I started looking at time and allied space differently
Now I realized myself as the Creator of space-time all along forever eternally
I see time as a means for me to live in a certain fashion that allows evolution
And when I merge in final light, the universal clock shall cease its revolution
