Single eye

Change is a fundamental constant of this universe, much as gravity
Nothing remains constant and there is a chronic change of parity
This is balanced every now and then by cyclical forces of creation
That create and destroy in a magnificient way of divine inspiration

On a personal level this is true of our own bodies: changes are within
There is no cell that remains alive for more than a few seconds
Containing just enough to fulfil their purpose they are intelligent
And wink in and out of existence in a dance that is so evanescent

And that is the framework on which we stand while in pursuit
Life's goals appear to be permanent but not when light infused
When our eye appears single, the entire body is filled with light
And in its brilliant glow truth fills all that our eyes see in sight

It is then that we can say with confidence that we are always one
There are no troubles that beset us as our lives unfold under the sun
Day follows day in a cycle that is constant and shall never stand still
But our vantage point is outside and reveals a truth quite immutable
