Unstressed life

Consciousness is an offshoot alongwith the mind of the ultimate Seer
This is a witness beyond gender and race, source of all infinite grandeur
Seer is in the stillness when the rising wave sets into the falling tide
And stands outside the matrix of space-time spread out far and wide

When the world is awake the seer is asleep, and the reverse is also true
We can become the seer when we start moving out of habitual groove
Our effort to understand lower forms of knowledge can be suspended
And in the blessed quiet of Divinity's garden we can stay awhile enchanted

We can observe the birth and death of worlds and consciousness galore
Our limitless nature is exposed merging now and then with that before
Desire doesnt arise in us and thus there is no need to create time's flow
We see a suspension of pseudo-reality as creation's essence is aglow

We dont need to strive to realize that our essential nature is the Seer
A journey doesnt have to be undertaken to lands quite distant or near
There is no need to renounce all material wealth and become an ascetic
Nor is there a need to feel guilty and punish ourselves as if we are heretics

I simply decided one day that I wouldnt listen to the ego's mental chatter
From then on I started to speak truth, and the consequences didnt matter
I stopped planning my life and carefully counting sources of material wealth
Surrendering to the Almighty I started out on a wonderful and amazing quest

I look back now on my life that has gone past and see evidence that is legion
At all times in this life, whether known or unknown, Spirit has guided to union
Now I see my goal clearly and resist the numbing forces of day to day living
A light rises constantly within me and flows on ceaselessly without any striving
