Need to earn a living

The notion of having to earn a living shall fast become an anachronism. Nature is all around us trying to teach us about an alternate way of living, but we spend out entire lives ignoring and shutting out this ubiquitous message.

The fact that we have done that itself is a miracle, because the message is so persistent and yet we choose to ignore it.

Nature shows us that there is an universal force that accounts for and takes care of everything. No aspect of it is left unassisted and everyone has a place in its scheme. The most complex of processes are effortlessly performed in its wisdom and do not need any type of supervision.

The miracle of birth and death proceeds without cease and is perfectly coordinated in all of nature.

We humans, inspite of being possessed of a higher intelligence assume that we need to have a special purpose to continue to exist. And this purpose is closely linked to being productive in society. There is no such dictate imposed on any other constituency in Nature.

All of nature takes its existence for granted and never questions its self-worth. Amongst humans, children are like that as well. But as soon as these children grow, all of a sudden, they are burdened with the task of trying to figure out where they fit in, how productive they are, and what controbutions they can make to society etc.

We have a compelling need to earn a living: and that leads to a lot of malaise and stress. A time will come soon when we no longer need to do that, and our existence in this World will be as natural as that of a tree, a wild flower, or a lion on the wide open plains of the Serengeti.
